Philatelic Yearbook Vaticano 2025
The Philatelic and Numismatic Marketing Office is pleased to present to collectors the traditional annual volume “Vatican 2025”, published by the Postal and Philatelic Service. The volume brings together the entire Vatican philatelic production and the postmarks used during 2025, and includes the informative texts for each philatelic issue in four languages: Italian, French, German, and English. The image chosen for the cover is a photograph depicting His Holiness appearing on the central Loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica on the day of his election to the papal throne, as he presents himself for the first time to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square (Vatican Media Archives). This year’s Volume is enriched by a numbered certificate of guarantee, issued by the Postal and Philatelic Service, and by a numbered parchment, issued by the Philatelic and Numismatic Sales Office. The parchmentbears four postage stamps chosen to represent some of the most significant moments in the recent history of the Church: the Pontificate of Francis, the Holy Year, the Sede Vacante, and the beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV. Each of the four stamps features a different denomination and is accompanied by its respective date stamp bearing the date of issue. The parchment thus becomes not only a distinctive element of the Volume, but also a tangible testimony to an extraordinary year, marked by events of exceptional significance and destined to hold a special place in the history of the Vatican philately.
