Stamp Europa 2026: 70th anniversary of Europa Stamp - € 1,35
The Vatican presents the new stamp from the “Europa 2026” series, celebrating the 70th anniversary of Europa Stamp, an initiative that for decades has represented an important instrument of cooperation among European postal administrations. The theme chosen for this edition celebrates a shared journey spanning seventy years, during which collaboration among European postal services has helped foster the development of communications, dialogue among peoples, and the dissemination of common values. The stamp illustration stands out for its essential and symbolic graphic composition: a dotted line, inspired by the typical perforation of a postage stamp, runs diagonally across the pictorial space, creating an increasingly dynamic visual effect. This element is intended to represent the progress and evolution that have characterized cooperation among the various European postal organizations over the past seven decades. The choice of the perforated line, reinterpreted in a contemporary style, simultaneously recalls philatelic tradition and its enduring ability to renew itself, while the upward movement suggests a path of development, innovation, and integration among different national realities united by a common goal. This issue forms part of the well-established “Europa” series, which each year involves the participation of numerous member countries committed to producing stamps inspired by a shared theme, thereby strengthening the sense of belonging and cooperation at the continental level.
