This year marks the 50th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Vicenta Maria, a shining example of charity, dedication, and hope. She was the founder of the Order of the Religious of Mary Immaculate, a congregation whose mission is to support young women in distress. Canonized in 1975 by Pope Paul VI, her life remains a living testimony to God’s love for the weakest and most abandoned. As the founder of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate, Vicenta Maria devoted her life to assisting young working women and those in need, offering them shelter, education, and dignity. Her message, rooted in faith and mercy, is still relevant today in a world that longs for justice and compassion. The stamp features a mosaic from the chapel of Villa Santa María, belonging to the Religious of Mary Immaculate. It presents a symbolic synthesis of the theme of salvation: two angels announce the Good News and urge us to give glory to God. At the center, the Blessed Virgin guides and protects Saint Vicenta, and together they trample the snake beneath their feet. Flanking the scene is a quotation from Saint Augustine that fittingly captures the identity of this saint: “Aliis blanda, aliis severa, nulli inimica, omnibus mater” (“Gentle with some, firm with others, an enemy to none, a mother to all”).
