(19-02-2024) 200th Anniversary of the dream of St. John Bosco - SERIE
€1.30
The Vatican joins the Salesian family in celebrating the dream St. John Bosco had when he was nine years old, a dream that directed his future steps and inspired his work and charism. The Vatican postage stamp celebrating the anniversary features a rendition of a painting on canvas created in 1999 by artist Mario Bogani (1932- 2016) and preserved in the upper Basilica of Don Bosco (Colle Don Bosco, Castelnuovo D. Bosco, Asti, Italy). The stamp illustrates the vision of young John as he himself recounted in his Memoirs that describes the origin of his vocation as the future founder of the Salesian Congregation and the inspiration of his educational philosophy reflected in the three principles: Reason, Religion and Loving-kindness.
